MINECRAFT - 2022

University Project

Minecraft - Beach Recovery is designed to enhance awareness about sustainability among kids of  10 yo in a playful way.

Recognizing that the computer room is a favorite space for these digital natives, the project takes a different approach by using Minecraft, a game they love, to convey sustainability concepts. Instead of traditional classroom methods, the kids participate in a modified gameplay where they must clean up trash on a beach, an environment familiar to them due to their school's coastal location. This integration of real-world relevance into the game helps translate virtual actions into real-life awareness.

The outcome of this project is a custom Minecraft patch that introduces new challenges. Players must clean plastic waste from the sand to avoid harm to their characters. Proper recycling of this plastic allows them to create tools within the game, blending fun with an educational message about recycling and environmental responsibility.

By using a platform the kids enjoy, Minecraft - Beach Recovery successfully captures their attention and shapes a future generation more conscious of sustainability.
